Holiday Sh-ELVES (see what we did there?)

Too many gifts under the tree — or no tree at all? Use a bookshelf! To unify the look, wrap with kraft paper and add black, white, and silver touches.

Doormat DIY!

Upgrade a plain coir mat with graphic white trees. Even easier, add a few stripes of red paint to a metal pail. This just might be the easiest DIY you'll ever do. You can even get the kids and have fun together!

Hang Those Ribbons

Line a banister with a fresh pine garland and crimson bows. Better yet, stir up some paint in a dramatic hue for a merry makeover you'll love even after the holidays.

LED-ify It!

Christmas trees, ribbons, Santa Claus, and the like are all great but Christmas is never complete without the glittering lights. Put them on the walls and you know the holiday season is indeed just around the corner!

Craft Your Own Tree

Tired of the old green or white Christmas tree? Use yarn to style a mini version on an empty wall or in a hallway. Enlist the kids to dress it to the nines with paper-circle "ornaments" and felt, attached with tape.

Wreaths that Work!

Get a couple of small wreaths. Hang them on the door, kitchen cabinets, or in the hallway. More wreaths, more fun!

Set a Casual Table

Swap in folded tea towels for place-mats and napkins. They work just as well — and they're often cheaper! Colorful tumblers can step in for vases too.

Operation Couch Dress-up!

When the season calls for snuggling up the couch and watching Christmas movies, you don't want to skimp on the throw pillows. Add more red for some Christmas flare!
