Favorite Picnic Destination In Sammamish
Picnic is one activity that our family is looking forward to during Spring and Summer. It’s a great bonding experience that creates memories that kids will surely cherish, they can play their favorite games and enjoy lots of outdoor activities. Picnic have so many health benefits for the whole family as well, on a sunny day morning we are exposed in vitamin D and it helps calcium absorption, we breath fresh air for healthy lungs, kids are active, it’s a mood booster and relieves stress, and we enjoy eating healthy home-cooked meals. Here’s the list of some favorite picnic destinations in Sammamish.

Beaver Lake Park
The park is 83 acres with a large forest section with trails located in the middle. On the northern side, it offers a quiet atmosphere and access to Beaver Lake, while on the west side it offers three sports fields, a playground, picnic shelter, off-leash dog park, and restrooms.

Pine Lake Park
It’s a 19 acre wooded park and it opened in 1910s and was originally a private resort. It’s one of Sammamish’s most popular parks with lots of ammenities and beautiful views.

Big Rock Park North
This park is a 16-acre park located along SE 8th St. It is connected to Big Rock Park Central from a nature playground with more than 1.5 miles of meandering trails that navigate through the property. It offers a play structure, trails and zipline that slide along the hillside.

Evans Creek Preserve
It’s a 213-acre preserve that offers wildflower meadows, wetlands, wildlife, forested uplands, 3.5 miles of pedestrian-only loop trails. It has a collection of wildlife like deers, black bears, hawks, songbirds, and beavers.

Northeast Sammamish Park
It’s a small 4-acre park located at the main entrance to Sahalee. It was formerly called King County Park and was transferred to the City of Sammamish after incorporation. It offers tennis courts, a basketball court, and a children’s play area.

East Sammamish Park
It’s a 19-acre park located next to Margaret Mead Elementary School. It offers brightly colored playground equipment with lots of amenities and a large parking lot. It’s a popular destination for kids and their families especially for its sports groups for practices, games, and camps.

Klahanie Park
It’s a 64-acre park located next to Challenger Elementary School. The park is popular for sports practices, games, and camps the only park that has a cricket field. The Park also has multiple sports fields, a trail, a small play structure, natural areas, and the protected Queen’s Bog.

Sammamish Landing Park
It’s an 8-acre park located along the eastern shoreline of Lake Sammamish with three beach areas two docks and a picnic shelter. It’s a popular destination and the only public property along the shoreline of Lake Sammamish. It also features a historic artifact display and interpretive signage that commemorate the railroad that formerly ran along East Lake Sammamish Trail.
