How To Prepare For Home Inspection During Winter
During this time of the year, the weather is predictable and has a direct effect on a home inspection. Winter can make it very difficult and your home might not be thoroughly inspected. You have to work on a pile of snow from the ground up to the roof. So we prepared a list of areas that shouldn’t be missed during winter home inspection.

Foundations And Drainage
Any problems with drainage can lead to flooding. Cracked walls, eroded soil, uneven floors and surfaces, and drainage problems are maybe a sign of damaged foundations.

Plumbing
Look out for frozen pipes and leaks or water flow blockages. This can happen when the house is not properly cared for before winter and the heat is turned off.

Electrical
Checking the main electrical panel, wiring and outlets are very important. Make sure that electricity is also turned on so the heating system can be checked as well.

Roof
Snow on the roof can hide wood damages or missing shingles, and warm air is escaping through insulations. Make sure that this part of the house is clean before the inspection.

Ask For Expert Advice
For further scrutiny, you can call in or ask for an expert’s advice if you have minor issues with heating, electrical, and plumbing.

Remove Obstructions For The Inspector
Removing obstructions or any risks can reduce the time, effort, and cost (for potential reschedule) for the inspections. It will also increase the chance of detecting more problems during the inspections.
