Every year Lent is a tradition to observe for Christian, for 46 days believers either commit to certain acts of kindness or fast to observe the season. It is the time to reflect, practice prayer, and the act giving up something to remember the sacrifices Jesus has made. Here are a few things that you might give up for Lent.

Alcohol

Giving up alcohol for some might be very challenging and tough but it can also help improve our overall health. It will also help you save money, improve your sleep and mood.

Sugar

You’ll be surprised by the result, too much sugar consumption can temporarily weaken your immune system. It affects your body’s ability to fight viruses and other infections.

Meat

The best time to avoid meat is every Friday during Lent season or maybe the entire season, you can also try to avoid red meat only when giving up all meat is not possible.

Junk Food

One of the healthiest ways to observe the Lent season is to give up junk food or any processed food. Be creative and think of a healthier alternative.

Negativity

Try to avoid negative thoughts or situations, think of happy thoughts or anything that you are thankful for. It will help you improve your mental health, and fight stress.

Social Media

If it’s too hard for you to avoid all social media you can try ditching other apps that you think might give you more time to observe the season.

Gossip

Take a moment to compliment or say something positive to others, if someone is talking about someone else say something nice about the person and change the subject. Tell them that you are avoiding gossip and they might appreciate the positivity.

Video Streaming Or Binge-Watching

It can help you connect more to your family and friends, you can now do the things that you normally do, and less screentime means you have more time to rest or sleep.

Clutter

You will realize that you have too much stuff, you can also help others by donating some of the things that you don’t need anymore after you organize your stuff and declutter.

Online Shopping

You might be buying stuff that you don’t really need it just happens to be on sale, you will realize that you save money when you only buy things that you really need.
